A Very Shrewd Move

House Speaker Pelosi just offered the olive branch of bipartisanship to President Bush and Republicans remaining in Congress. Should Bush now come forward with 'stay the course' in Iraq, he will be the one laying out the ground work for partisan bickering.

Very, very shrewd politically. I'm looking forward to Bush's reponse this afternoon.

"This is not about getting even, it's about moving America forward."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

kudos

Pelosi's comments are dead on! we need to change thae way things are done in Washington. No more name-calling, bickering, disagreeing just because of party affiliations. We need strong, forward-thinking leadership for the new majority in the House (and dare I say... SENATE!). Focus on getting laws passed that MEAN SOMETHING to the citizens of this nation. Work WITH the repulicans as much as possible. Don't turn this vostory into a witch hunt to 'Get revenge'. We need to focus on getting the WhiteHouse in'08
