Why the Kerry Misspeak Today Will Benefit Democrats
If you haven't heard it yet, John Kerry made a minor mistake today. The response from the White House was to attempt to paint Kerry (and other Democrats) as the Party that does not support the troops.
In John Kerry, they felt they had an easy target. Afterall, he kind of rolled over for a few days during the last election when he got "swiftboated", ushering in a new political term for this century.
Well, John Kerry certainly learned a lesson from 2004. He certainly is not going to allow people to distort not only his record, but the Democratic record in Congress in support of our troops.
So, why is this hullabaloo an advantage for the Democrats? Well, the last thing that the Republicans want the American people focusing on is Iraq, and this adminsitrations failed policies there. Rather, the news from Republicans was going to be "look at this vibrant economy!"...."Look at those gays wanting to get married!", etc...
Instead, this last week of the campaign will be focused exactly where the Democratic Party needs it to be: on the failed policies of George Bush and those Republicans too cowardly to do anything but give this administration a rubber stamp.
So yes, let's talk about Iraq in these final days. Let's forget about Republican Congressmen molesting little boys, Republican Senators using racial ephitets and focus on some REAL POLITICS.

Okay, I was going to say something funny. Now picture me as the Giant Jack Head in those Jack In The Box commercials with a totally blank expression. You know, the WTF one. It's almost sad when it's this easy to manipulate people into pure tilt. I'd congratulate you on excellent mind control, but of course that would stipulate a mind to control and that's obviously a stretch here :-). nh anyway.
Just one more reason to re-import those cheaper psychoactive drugs from Canada. There is such a need for them here.

First, the media latching onto something so meaningless in the first place, running with it, and beating it to death instead of focusing on what counts in the election. Okay, that part is typical and kind of expected these days, but on to the second most annoying bit of all of this.
John Kerry.
In 2004, he was headed towards the Presidency, ahead in the polls and terrorism was first and foremost on voters minds. Here was a Democrat who really was honored for his military service, and then, he got 'swiftboated' because he failed to stand up and fight back.
Now fast forward to 2006, election time and a misspeak during a speech. Then Kerry immediately does the right thing by firing and fighting back. Suddenly, the media goes into an uproar and a few select Democratic politicians with 2008 ambitions begin to chastise Kerry. Finally, less than 24 hours later, Kerry is gone from the campaign trail, back in Washington 'laying low'. Well, he did that in 2004 and it cost him the election. Now this won't have any effect on the elections of 2006, but I can no longer support John Kerry for a Presidential run in 2008, and I did.
In addition, I will not support any puke candidate who jumped all over Kerry either and that means Hillary Clinton.
I will find another candidate to support. Kerry cannot stand firm, and others are just pathetic.
